I am a writer, poet, musician, environmentalist and gamer.
I am also a witch.
Not an earth-shaking announcement, but it took me awhile to fully embrace the path I was born to walk.
My family belonged to the Methodist Church and my parents were spiritual lifelong seekers of Christian understanding. But from an early age I felt out of step with both my peers and the Christian community. Not so much that I disagreed with the tenets of Christianity, it just wasn’t a comfortable or satisfying fit.
Throughout my youth and early adulthood, I made intermittent investigations into the metaphysical community, while trying to find spiritual satisfaction in the Christian practice with which I’d been raised. Finally, six years ago, I accepted Christianity was not the path for me and I embraced my Wiccan leanings. I began studying both Wiccan practice and witchcraft. They are not one and the same.
I am an Empath with a strong connection to nature; Wicca offered a perspective that answered the yearnings of my heart. Wicca also validated my intuitive understanding of the world and made room for both a masculine and feminine divine. Witchcraft opened my mind to a wealth of opportunities to both honor the divine and expand my spirituality.
I am also an Aquarian with strong opinions, going my own way and overthinking every step I take. Turning 60 in just a few weeks, I am on a mission to reach for my own personal stars. I am seeking to expand my spiritual practice, push the boundaries of my comfort zone, and challenge my anxiety and insecurity by coming out of the shadows where I’ve been hiding for so long.
Keep looking up, the moon is shining down upon you.
Blessed Be!
